Who we are and what we do?
A space away from the city where you can connect with nature, Birds of Paradise
is a place to discover new domestic animals, and understand familiar ones in new light.
We live in a world where a child may have never seen or petted a horse, can’t tell the difference between a sheep and a goat. We want our children to know Mother Nature, and be her ally, making a permanent commitment to her protection. This process helps them develop common sense, scientific and independent thinking. Humans need animals and a child’s development is enhanced by a connection with nature and animals, and this belief has been a driving factor in the birth of Birds of Paradise.
In today’s highly competitive, fast-paced, technology-driven world, children have no access to animals and the natural world. They need these interactions with nature for holistic and healthy development, to cultivate respect, humanity and appreciation of others.
When children are exposed to diverse experiences, and have a safe place to interact with animals, which they could never access in the city – magic happens! Birds of Paradise believes in harnessing the full potential of the outdoors to teach life skills, facilitate hands on experiences, conquer innate fears, challenges and inculcate independence and responsibility.
Stress traumatises our children, so much so that anxiety, depression and other behavioural / personality disorders are on the rise. Animals heal, and exert an incredible therapeutic power on our lives. Animals help children overcome their fears, realise their full potential as citizens, creators and more.
What’s more? Digital detox, simply minimizing screen-time and getting outdoors, is an urgent need for a generation that’s deteriorating into obesity.
It is our hope for the future.
At Birds of Paradise, we love animals, but believe they are totally misunderstood. Since our future depends on rebuilding environmental health, we want to promote the right perspective, attitude and responsibility towards the natural world.
We’ve taken it upon ourselves to provide a safe environment wherein children and animals can interact free of bias, cruelty and agendas.
Children need animals to be better people, and the survival of animals depend on children who care and commit to their protection. This here is a simple equation that we are after – a healthy tomorrow that is inclusive and sustainable for us all.
Nature could not have designed a better classroom than the outdoors; we harness teachable moments to build a perspective and strong world view. We encourage pro-active parenting, and create opportunities for parents to spend quality time connecting with their kids.

What you can do at
For thousands of years, humans have developed bonds with animals. It has been a dynamic relationship. But with the onslaught of urbanization and professional pressures, this bond has become really weak. At Birds of Paradise, we foster the innate relationship between humans and animals in a safe, controlled environment.
The following are the core activities that one can do in Birds of Paradise:
- Meet and interact with animals under expert guidance
- See animals and birds from a very close range
- Touch, hold and pet animals and birds
- Feed animals and birds (if the feeding schedule allows you at that point of time)
- Clean / give bath (for select animals only, if the schedule permits)
- Observe the young ones of animals and birds, see how the parents take care of their young ones
- Learn the right way of handling animals
- Learn their behaviour and approach them in the right way
- Learn about different pets, and ways to take care of them
- Basics of gardening and hands-on sessions in gardening
- Experience the horse raiding
You can come with your family and friends and spend quality time in the midst of pets, nature and experts who can help you understand beautiful aspects of interacting and bonding with pet animals.

Birds of Paradise – Our Core
Discover Birds of Paradise Foundation & NGO : Pangea’s Vision for Wildlife Harmony & Education
Birds of Paradise is an initiative of ‘Pangea flora and fauna Consultancy LLP’, a small Bangalore-based start up with big dreams. we have delved deep into various aspects of human-animal conflict resolution, conducting urban wildlife rescues and rehabilitation, education.
At our core, we want to find solutions to build a world where humans and animals can safely co-exist. We are well-versed in urban ecology and building biodiverse habitats within the city that can support native species and ecology. We work towards snakebites mitigation, and we have been commissioned to develop a national curriculum that fosters snake safety and snakebite awareness for Indian villages.
We work towards increasing environmental literacy through outdoor and experiential learning. Ultimately, it is tolerance and responsible citizenship that we are after.

Birds of Paradise – Our Primary Objectives
Nature could not have designed a better classroom than the outdoors; we harness teachable moments to build a perspective and strong world view.
Birds of Paradise has been developed as a model farm – this means everything you see here is a prototype and can be built for your space, on request. We promote natural, sustainable construction and practice our expertise on the subject.
We are a platform for experiential education and project-based learning, specialised in outdoor engagement, rooted deep in wildlife and ecology. We nurture tolerance and children’s natural skills and seize every opportunity to engage, learn, interact and plant the seeds for a deeper understanding of the natural world. Ours is an open environment where we foster curiosity and cultivate it into environmental literacy, respect and responsible stewardship.
